zswap provides compressed RAM cache for swap. Data that would be swapped out to disk is compressed and stored into pool in RAM.
Note: zram and zswap will interfere with each other, if both are used.
Benefits
- If data can be compressed well, it's saved in RAM
Issues
- Adds CPU workload
- Uses RAM very effectively
- Requires swap partition on the hard disk
